How the Puzzle Works

Each Unwordle puzzle gives you a grid and a completed word at the bottom. The colored tiles above the final word show what kind of letters each row needs.

Green means the letter must match the final word in that exact column. Yellow means the letter appears in the final word but must move to another column. Gray means the letter should not be part of the final word.

Only valid words can complete the grid, so you need both vocabulary and deduction.

How to Play Unwordle Online

Click or tap an empty row, then enter a word that matches the color pattern. Work through the grid until every row is accepted.

The safest method is to solve from the bottom upward. The final word gives you all the information you need, and the nearby rows are often easier to test first.

If Unwordle shows an error marker, the word does not satisfy one or more color rules. Replace the problem letter and check the row again.

Build the word around green tiles first. They are fixed, so they reduce the number of possible answers quickly.

Place yellow letters only after checking their banned positions. A yellow letter cannot sit in the same column as the final word.

Use gray tiles to test outside letters. Common consonants like S, T, R, L, and N can help, but only if they do not appear in the final answer.

Watch repeated letters. If the final word has one copy of a letter, Unwordle may reject extra copies when they break the clue pattern.
